Today, we’re exploring the top-rated taco truck on Yelp in Los Angeles. We’re here in Sylmar to check out Taqueria Mi Ranchito on this week’s episode of Eat Live Love San Fernando Valley.
Jesus, the owner of Taqueria Mi Ranchito. didn’t come from a food background. He left his job with a gas company contractor to start his own business in the food industry.
One of the reasons why Taqueria Mi Ranchito has received so many accolades is due to the exceptional flavor of their meat. Jesus ensures that he sources the best quality meat and ingredients for his customers. The mulita is a dish that not everyone has tried before, but it’s a must-try at Taqueria Mi Ranchito. It’s two handmade tortillas filled with cheese and meat. The cheese they use is Monterey cheese, and it’s of the highest quality. They also serve nachos, and the papas nachos are a standout dish. They use in-house made french fries, and the carne asada is topped with all three of their signature salsas.
As for the food itself, I’m going to start with the Cabeca taco, which is highly recommended by the staff. It’s braised meat that’s high in natural fat and protein. I’ve never tried this type of taco before, but it tastes similar to carne asada with a more tender and juicy texture. This is incredible. I can’t believe I have never tried this before.
Next, I’m going to try the mulita. The handmade tortillas are a game-changer, and the cheese is the key ingredient that elevates this dish. It’s like a quesadilla-taco hybrid that’s fried in oil, and the carne asada is delicious.
Finally, I get to have the papa nachos. The french fries are crispy and not soggy, and the carne asada and salsas are a perfect combination. The nachos are big enough to share with friends and family, and they’re packed with flavor.
