There are not a ton of options when it comes to Puerto Rican food in Southern California. AC, the owner, was working in finance when the economic crash of 2008 took place. He was looking for something he could sell at that time. That’s how the inspiration for Mofongos came about.

What is a mofongo you ask? A mofongo is  made of fried mashed plantains flavored with salt, garlic and oil, then turned into a sort of savory doughnut served with all sorts of meat in the center, and often seated in a bowl of chicken soup.  The mofongo can be topped with a skirt steak, fried chicken, shrimp, red snapper, pork just to name a few.

“The mofongos are really good! Overall, it is a great dish. ”

In this video we spotlight a bit of everything including their signature appetizer platter the De Todo un Poco or A little of everything in English, Jibarito de Pechuga, and the mofango de churrasco. If you are looking for real authentic and classic Puerto Rican food, visit Mofongos in person or online.
