Have you checked out the Granada Hills Farmers Market yet? If you haven’t, you might be missing out on one of the best local gems in the San Fernando Valley. Today on Eat Live Love San Fernando Valley, we’re taking you on a mouthwatering tour through this incredible market, which brings the community together every Friday evening. From fresh produce to mouthwatering street food and unique handmade crafts, this market is a feast for all your senses.
First up, we stopped by Coyote Elote, where they serve up some of the most creative and indulgent street corn you’ll ever find. I tried their trio sampler, which includes Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, Doritos, and roasted butter corn. If you’re a fan of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, you’re going to love this! The crunch combined with the buttery corn is simply delicious. And don’t sleep on the Doritos option either—it’s just as mouthwatering. This is a perfect dish to share with family or friends as you wander through the market.
Now, let’s talk about the market itself. Open every Friday evening, the Granada Hills Farmers Market runs from 6 to 10 p.m. during the summer months. It’s located at White Oak Avenue and Chatsworth Street, and it has grown tremendously since its humble beginnings. What started with just a handful of vendors has now expanded to over 50 vendors offering a variety of goods every week. This market has become a true community hub, where you can find everything from artisanal foods to fresh produce, handmade crafts, and more.
We also had the chance to chat with Eliana, one of the vendors La Che Empanadas, about her business that features delicious Argentine empanadas. She and her friend started cooking empanadas online and by special order, and now they offer a full menu including pastelitos, alfajores, and chimichurri. If you’re a fan of Argentine cuisine, make sure to stop by and try these authentic flavors.
Next, we found a vendor with a unique twist on candy, Gummies With A Little Spice. They take your favorite childhood treats—Skittles, Gushers, Fruit by the Foot—and give them a spicy Mexican twist. The watermelon-flavored candy is their most popular, and after trying it, I can see why. The soft, chewy texture combined with the sweet and spicy flavors is completely addictive.
Now, if you’re in the mood for something a bit more decadent, you’ll want to visit Bug and Bears Cannoli. These cannolis are massive, and they’re filled to the brim with creamy, sweet filling. Their journey started with a casual introduction at a pool league, and now they’re one of the most popular vendors at the market. They’ve even been recognized by Yelp as one of the best cannoli spots in Los Angeles. After one bite, you’ll understand why!
Of course, we can’t forget the savory options. Smash Rodz is serving up some of the best smash burgers in LA, and it’s all about quality here. From the 80/20 beef to the Boar’s Head cheese and brioche buns, every ingredient is top-notch. And for dessert lovers, their banana pudding is an absolute must-try. Creamy, sweet, and with chunks of banana and bread mixed in—it’s hard to resist.
Finally, we visited Mecha BBQ, known for their smoked meats and exceptional customer service. Fans of this popup barbecue stand are so loyal that they follow them wherever they go. Their smoked sandwiches are packed with flavor, and their chef specials are always a hit. If you haven’t tried Mecha BBQ yet, you’re missing out on some of the best barbecue in Southern California.
