Scott Himelstein takes his family to celebrate the fall harvest at Tapia Bros. Farm in Encino. Tapia Bros. Farm is a family business run by Tomas Tapia, his brother Felix Tapia, and sister-in-law, Caroline. You can pick up strawberries, tomatoes and other freshly picked crops during the summer. During the fall and winter months, the lot will be full of pumpkins, Christmas trees, corn mazes or hay rides, which help to bolster seasonal and holiday spirits. They have been around since 1984.
You can partake in a ton of activities here including: the pumpkin patch, farmer’s market, and on weekends a corn maze, train ride, petting zoo and more. They have an incredible selection of pumpkin and squash in different shapes or sizes, whether it is for adults, kids, individuals or for the whole family to carve.
You can also get lost (no, really get lost!) in the corn maze, complete with a map and trivia questions. The average time to finish this challenge is 40 to 45 minutes. See if you can beat that time. (Watch the video to see the world record time Scott set ???.)
“If you come here, they have great activities for the kids on weekends.”
If you are looking for a great place to take your family, Tapia Bros. Farm offers a festive day on the farm. It’s a great opportunity to support of the last local farms in the area.
