On today’s episode of Eat Live Love San Fernando Valley, I’m excited to visit a restaurant I’ve heard a lot of good things about: Nic’s Burgers & Bowls & Dipped Cones. Joining me to tell us all about it is owner Walter Lee.

Nic’s was actually named after Walter’s 9-year-old son Nic, who also designed the menu. Walter’s been involved in the restaurant industry since he was a teenager, and he believes he passed on his love for the business to his son. All of their ingredients are delivered fresh daily, including brioche buns from Puritan Bakery and angus beef that’s never frozen. Their bowls, meanwhile, use fresh chicken thighs and a teriyaki sauce that’s a 25-year secret family recipe.

None of this would be complete, though, without dessert, and Nic’s takes the dipped cone concept and flips it on its head—literally. As you can see at 3:17 in the video, they serve their ice cream inside a plastic cup that’s sprinkled with your choice of toppings and capped off with a cone on top.

I had the pleasure of chowing down on a custom burger topped with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onion rings, jalapenos, pickles, and a house-made Thousand Island dressing. The brioche bun holds everything together nicely, and the mix of flavors made for a terrific burger. I also got my own cone to tie the meal together.

Whether you like burgers, bowls, or dipped cones, I highly recommend heading down to the corner of Mason Avenue and Lassen Street in Chatsworth and checking them out.

If you have questions about this episode or have a restaurant you’d like to see me spotlight in a future episode of Eat Live Love San Fernando Valley, don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I look forward to seeing you next time!
